![]() SRC always gives you a runaround story if you call them. I am sure SRC could make you a 13" barrel if they had to replace one. There is nothing wrong with the AC and in terms of the "fun quotient" I would take an AC556K over two custom built semi auto AR15s any day of the week for the same cost. Personally I only have a 22LR can custom threaded for my AC since I primarily use it as a 22LR platform. and M16 where the receiver has almost no stress), and it has funky threading so it's alittle more of a challenge to suppress and I have heard that they dont suppress all that well. The only downside is the barrel is thin so it heats up quick, the receiver takes most of the stress in the system (vs. My AC shoots just about everything I have ever put into it including Wolf. Now a days why not just by a Ruger OEM 30rd mag for what $30 bucks or so and be done with it. ![]() While I would personally recommend only using factory Ruger mags (and why not you can get 20s and 30rds direct from Ruger) I have personally had good luck with the PMI 40rds I got during the ban years when 30rd Ruger OEM mags were north of $150 each. Overall the AC is not as good of a gun ergonomics-wise as an HK33 or M16 series but is stilll a fine and reliable weapon. A large portion of the parts will interchange with the older Mini-14s, Ruger still has some parts to the best of my knowledge, and it's not all that difficult to get a demilled AC556 parts kit from the litterally thousands of post sample ACs out there. Parts are not available like they are for the M16 but its not like an FNC either where parts are a true bitch to find. We had a free machinegun rental / demo (guess its not really a rental if you dont charge money) in Dallas about a month back or so and had a bunch of people put mag after mag through my AC and everybody who shot it walked away with a smile. I don't shoot mine all that much and when I do it pretty much has a 22LR kit in it. When a party offers the full advertised amount, they are automatically the official buyer and any other ongoing negotiations or conversations with other parties are no longer relevant.I will give another overall positive vote for the AC556K.
